一、About casting

 

1. What is "wax free casting"?

        Dewaxing precision casting is also known as investment casting or wax loss casting, the process is usually the selection of appropriate investment materials (such as paraffin) to make investment mold;Repeatedly dip refractory coating and sand on the investment mold, harden the shell and dry it;Then melt the internal investment mold to obtain the cavity;The shell is roasted to obtain sufficient strength and to burn off the residual investment molding material;The metal materials needed for pouring are solidified and cooled, and the sand is cleaned after the shell is removed, so as to obtain high precision finished products.Heat treatment and cold processing and surface treatment according to product requirements.

二、Casting process

 

Make mould

According to the customer requirements of the product specifications combined with the characteristics of precision casting parts, we worked out the best plan and made the mold (A), and then the wax through the injection machine under the rated parameters into the mold and molding, so as to make the wax model (B), so as to form A wax model with precise size.
 

Wax parts

A casting cluster or combination is formed by assembling the wax part on the die head, i.e. attaching the wax part to the center of the wax rod, also known as the die head.According to the requirements of products, our wax parts assembly in the process test to optimize the best plan, and form the process.It not only guarantees the density of the final casting products, but also considers the casting size and how to eliminate impurities in the casting. 。 

 

Pulp and sand

Continuous layers of slurry and sand (A) and (B) adhere to the die head assembly to form A hard shell.The shell of each layer needs to be fully dried in the constant temperature and humidity workshop, which guarantees both air permeability and strength, and provides a good premise for the high quality of subsequent roasting and smelting.

 

Dewaxing and roasting
The die head assembly is dewaxed in a steam or electric furnace. The wax inside the shell is removed to form a clean and empty shell. After sufficient cooling, it is heated to over 1000℃ for roasting.In this process, any impurities remaining in the empty shell are likely to become impurities in the final casting, and we will try to eliminate any possible impurities.

The prepared metal materials are smelted at a high temperature of more than 1600℃. The melted metal is tested by a direct reading spectrometer to ensure that the material composition is qualified, and then it is poured into the baked ceramic shells and cooled.During cooling, the liquid metal condenses inside the shell to form the final casting we need.
 
Shell shock
In the shell shaker, the ceramic shell is shaken off. After a series of measures, such as vibration, sand beating and sandblasting, which do not damage the casting but can effectively remove the ceramic shell, we get the steel strings hung with the product, and the casting clusters or combinations whose shape is similar to that of the previous wax assembly, and then cut individual castings.
 
Surface treatment
The excess metal spout adhering to the casting surface will be polished off, and the polished spout will smoothly transition to the appearance of the casting, and be completely removed in subsequent polishing or machining.After polishing, there will be a series of treatment methods to treat and correct the casting. If necessary, we will also conduct heat treatment for the casting.
 
 
 
Testing and inspection
Finally, we will carry out thorough testing and inspection of the casting, such as checking the drawings provided by the customer at the beginning, and measuring the dimensions and tolerances to ensure that the casting is completed according to the requirements of the drawings.For castings that require surface treatment such as machining or polishing, we will also ensure that they are beautiful in appearance and in full compliance with dimensional tolerances and specifications.
